Fall FIVE Training Program

The "Fall FIVE Training Program" will include two groups training alongside one another for either the 5 Mile or 5k event at the McCarthy Bush YMCA Turkey Trot. This Fall, the certified coaches and training experts at Fleet Feet Sports will spend 8 weeks helping participants prepare for either their first 5k run/walk, or, their fastest 5 mile run. The 5k programming will be designed around the beginner, seeking to complete the 5k distance by the end of 8 weeks. Our 5 mile group will be more advanced, focusing on speed and endurance development, in an effort to swiftly cover the 5 miles at the Turkey Trot. We will meet twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:00pm, beginning Monday, September 25th. Our first meetup will be focused on the plan outline, training goals, expectations, meeting your partners and mentors, and getting out for a shorter run together. Participation in the Turkey Trot event on Thursday, November 23rd (Thanksgiving Day) will not be required, but is heavily encouraged! It will be a celebration!
