RIDGEWOOD Brooks Run Happy Half Marathon Training Program 2015
Brooks Run Happy Training is a beginner half marathon training program sponsored by Brooks beginning on January 6th, 2015. The program is designed to train participants to complete their first half marathon or improve their half marathon time.
We will train for 14 weeks on Tuesdays at 6 pm and Saturdays at 7:30 am (1/6-4/12). Our goal race is the Rock’n’Roll Raleigh Half Marathon (4/12) in Raleigh, NC. Participants need to be comfortable running or using run/walk intervals for 4 miles at a 14:30 min/mile pace before the start of the program. No walking pace group option.
We offer 6 pace groups to best suit your training:
Sub 9 minute / mile
9-10 minute / mile
10-11 minute / mile
11-12 minute / mile
12-13 minute / mile
Run/Walk Plan To Run (increasing run vs walking interval each week as distance increases from Run 4 min/Walk 2 min to Run 10 min/Walk 2 min)
Run/Walk (Run 4 min/Walk 2 min interval throughout the entire program)
