Fleet Feet Lexington: Summer 2024 5k Training
Whether you're hoping to complete your first 5k or are focused on getting a new race PR, Fleet Feet Run Club's 5K training program caters to beginners and experienced runners. Training will be structured as a 4-week program starting Tuesday, June 4th, and it will conclude on Thursday, July 4th with The Independence Day 5k in Richmond, KY. Personalized training schedules will be sent out every Sunday with group training sessions every Tuesday at 6:00pm and group long runs every Saturday at 8am.
For beginners, the program starts with a gradual introduction to running, incorporating walk-run intervals to build endurance. The structured training plan gradually increases the intensity, helping participants transition from walking to running and eventually completing a 5K. For more experienced runners aiming to boost their speed, the program includes targeted speed workouts, interval training, and tempo runs. These elements are designed to push the limits and improve pace, enabling participants to achieve personal bests in their 5K races.
The cost of the program gets you a FREE registration for The Independence Day 5k, customized weekly training plans, and a 15% discount on store items for the length of the program (some exclusions apply).
