Winter 2024/25 5K and 10K Training Program
Come get motivated this winter with our 5K and 10K training programs. Our 5K and 10K program is designed for those looking for a couch to 5K program, new to running/ walking, returning to running, or currently building on their 5K and 10K goals. We structure the program to help you cross the finish line of a goal race in just 10 weeks. Along the way we’ll provide you with the motivation to keep moving, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs or walks, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury.
Our 10-week program meets twice a week for group workouts, Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. The weekly runs consist of hill, track, and long-run workouts: Tuesday night's workouts will last about an hour to an hour and a half, and Saturday sessions will last 1+ hours as we increase mileage throughout the season. In addition to the workouts, there are educational clinics, newsletters keeping you up to date, nutrition tips, and expert coaching/mentoring to help inspire and motivate you on this training journey. The cost of the program is $100 which does not include a race registration fee. There is also an optional, add-on strength portion offered through Axis Fitness Training. The optional Axis Fitness strength component is a great compliment to this training for an additional $10 per week (one class a week) for 8 weeks of the program
This program starts Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, and times up perfectly for the Fleet Feet 5k during the Wilmington Marathon Weekend.
